PHOTOSHOP CS2 – MERLIN LIVES!

1. Open Photoshop.
2. Open the Layers|Channels|Paths window (at least one of them)
3. Press the ALT key and hold it down. (Option Key on the Mac)
4. Click the right-arrow options button in the top-right of the Layers window, but hold the mouse button down or the menu will disappear.
5. Still holding down both the ALT key and the left mouse button, move your mouse over “Palate Options…”, and let go of the mouse.

These eggs require usage of your ctrl key, so if you use ctrl to select a tertiary color, you will most likely want to select it to be the same as your primary color when using these eggs. (Tertiary colors are selected by holding ctrl while picking a color.)
To stamp, select part of the image and hold ctrl while dragging it.
To scuff, select part of the image and hold shift while dragging it.
To use brush pressure, hold ctrl and press – or + on the keypad while drawing, spraying, or using a shape tool.
To draw straight or diagonal lines with the pencil, hold Shift and move the mouse in that direction.

GOOGLE EARTH FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Run the latest version of Google Earth(v4.2). Simply press Ctrl+Alt+A (or Command+Option+A in OS X).
A flight simulator in Google Earth will be launched.

In an attempt to combat the increasingly high number of pirate DVDs, Paramount has joined Warner Brothers and are selling their DVD’s for a low price of $3. And these are no bargain bin movies. These are new movie titles that will go on sale some two months after their theater debut in the US.        
Time Warner was the first to try to undercut Chinese movie pirates by selling cheap DVDs in mid-2006. It formed Warner China as a partnership between Warner Bros., China Film Group, and Hengdian Group to sell movies just days after theatrical release for rock-bottom prices: just 10 to 12 yuan (between $1.30 and $1.60). Warner was followed by Fox a few months later, which planned to mirror that strategy but at a higher price—about 20 to 25 yuan, which translates to about $3.  The $3 price tag is still over twice as high as a pirated copy, but the studios hope that customers will learn the value of the legal versions.

Despite all of the very interesting speculation over the last few months, we’re not announcing a Gphone. However, we think what we are announcing — the Open Handset Alliance and Android — is more significant and ambitious than a single phone. In fact, through the joint efforts of the members of the Open Handset Alliance, we hope Android will be the foundation for many new phones and will create an entirely new mobile experience for users, with new applications and new capabilities we can’t imagine today

Android is the first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. It includes an operating system, user-interface and applications — all of the software to run a mobile phone, but without the proprietary obstacles that have hindered mobile innovation.

These phones which will be made are going to be available in the US on Sprint and T-Mobile by the second half of 2008—plus, it’s going to be available in China, Japan, Germany, Italy, and Spain on their respective carriers. The 34 members of the Open Handset Alliance developing this gPhone will throw in their expertise (example, Nvidia with their graphical abilities, Skype with their VoIPing) and offer the collective goods under an open source licensing agreement.

The software’s actually been in development for three years, starting from the Google acquisition of a company called Android Inc. The most important part of this is that the platform will be free for handset manufacturers to load onto their phones, beating out other operating systems like Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian in terms of price. On his blog this week, Wired editor Chris Anderson published 329 e-mail addresses that he had blocked in the past 30 days; most were PR firms sending unsolicited pitches. Anderson stated (and several PR and media professionals corroborated) that it’s foolish and counterproductive to send pitches to a magazine’s editor in chief rather than a more specific writer or editor, especially since Wired publishes staff writers’ addresses.
