These days, it seems everyone and their hamster is a member of at least one of the numerous social networking sites out there. Add that number to the multitude of email addresses we seem to have – hey, don’t even forget your rss feed subscriptions, and you have a fair few different places to visit when you go online.

Twitterfeed is a neat little tool – It’s a really simple way of tweeting out your RSS or Atom feed to Twitter and other platforms. All you have to do is login, add your blogs RSS feed and…..well, sit back and relax! Their servers will check your blog’s feed at a specified interval and whenever it picks up something new, Twitterfeed will post an update to your Twiter account! Simple.

Yeah, I know – another Twitter post. But this could be big. HootSuite have apparently found a way to monetize Twitter.

While many have talked about Twitter monetization, HootSuite’s gone ahead and done it. We’ve integrated AdSense into Hootsuite, and allowed you to add your AdSense code.

This will not detract from your Twitter experience. You will not see obnoxious ads in your Twitter feed.

Facebook today announced that they plan to help companies target their adverts based on what its users and friends in their network do on the internet. This move by Facebook will allow Web companies to increase their ad revenues, as the ads displayed will be relevant to the user on that page.

Along with this, Facebook will allow companies to build profile pages akin to those which millions of users use and maintain daily.

Further increasing company integration is a ‘Beacon’ which is what companies can embed on their outside sites. If eBay embeds this on their sites, a Facebook user who lists an item for auction can then get a Facebook alert sent to his/her friends enabling them to check the listing when they login.

“People influence people,” Zuckerberg said. “Nothing influences a person more than a recommendation from a trusted friend.”

Just came across this on Technorati. It seems as if they have finally got rid of WTF (where’s the fire ) or at least they have removed the link from the front page.

In between lectures, as every other student does, I had to check my Facebook. So I quickly typed in the domain name but by accident misspelled Facebook in my rush. In realising my mistake, my thoughts were that I would be redirected to Facebook as the majority of popular websites cater for the spelling errors of their users. But no. I wasn’t even redirected to a parked domain webpage. I was redirected to the homepage of GoDaddy – that’s the homepage, not a page saying the domain name is availiable. I didn’t know what to think and set out to see what other misspelled Facebook domains would yield. The most notable one was www.faebook.com which resulted in the homepage of Amazon.com – Yes, Amazon.

So what does this lead me to say? I’m not to sure myself but it is surprising that Facebook has not registered the common mis-spells of their name. And for Amazon and GoDaddy to own the commonly mispelled domains makes me think that Facebook has missed a trick here.
