At the Nintendo store in New York City, employees don’t have to fumble around with discs every time they want to demo a new game. Instead, they have a Wii with a hard drive for easy access!

What a week for PSP fans! First came the release of the PSP-3000, and now we get to feast our eyes on these absolutely stunning PSP2 concept design images by Tai Chiem. Included in these jaw dropping visuals are a scrolling OLED screen and speakers on each end which double as controls! Wandering how the screen manages to stay upright?? Well, apparently it uses an electrical charge to do this – I’m not sure how this works (If you do, leave a comment!) but it seems like an interesting bit of technology.

Dreamcast Portable – The DreamTrooper

On first glance you may have thought you picked up a kids toy – a Lazer Doodle or another electronic toy. But no. This ain’t no ordinary toy – this is a ‘DreamTrooper’ – a Dreamcast portable! Yep, I’m talking about the Dreamcast – in my opinion one of the greatest games consoles made ( Jet Set Radio anyone???).

Called the DreamTrooper due to it resembling a Storm Trooper helmet, this SEGA Dreamcast portable is fully-functional, complete with an illuminated logo. Though cramming the system in a Lazer Doodle case was complicated – the GD-ROM drive had to be hacked apart, but in the end everything fit together beautifully and even included a 5000maH Ni-Mh rechargeable battery.

One slight worry is that there’s no GD-ROM drive cover, so be very careful not to send the disc flying when the gaming action gets intense!!!

The portable integrates a Sony PSOne 5 inch LCD screen, an InterAct Quantum Fighterpad controller, stereo speakers and a battery pack which allows for about 2.5 hours on a single charge.

So I spoke about the Beer Fridge yesterday and called it the greatest invention etc.

However, I may have to take that back seeing as an ever greater gizmo has been found! Take a look at this.

This is a fully decked-out arcade emulation system, complete with real arcade controls, which also happens to have a kegerator built in! That’s right. In between rounds of Dig Dug and Space Invaders, you can grab yourself a nice cold one. The Gamerator comes loaded up with over 180 licensed arcade classics, but can also be connected to a game console of your choice (XBox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, NES, Genesis, etc) - the included 24 inch LCD screen is perfect for this.

Gotta hand it to those who built this amazing construction. This giant Donkey Kong level is in Berlin to promote the Computer Game Museum which is over there. Imagine if this was an attraction in a theme park or something – that would be insane!!
